...To my corner of the web! The name is David Martin and I specialise in front end web design and development. And if i must say im quite good at it, I can produce a fully working site from a supplied designs in about 2 days. Or I can convert it over to a range of open source CMS or e-commerce platforms.
I am available to work on a freelance basis and will consider on site work around the Midlands, east of England and London. Or I can work internationaly from my little office based in Higham Ferrers. My rates for freelance work are £200 - £300 per day dependant on location and contract length. If your looking to pay on a per project basis you can get an idea of costs here.
I have been using computers most of life, I used to spend many hours of my childhood copying code and tutorials from magazines to create games on the ZX Spectrum +2.
I have always been passionate about technology and how it integrates with the lives we lead.
I see myself as being very adaptable. I can work on multiple platforms, from Apple Mac to Windows and can switch from designer to coder. This adaptability can be seen throughout my portfolio where I am able to handle any brief I’m given be it digital or print.

One of most popular packages is my "slide and dice" package, with this I take any pre-designed site from psd's, ai, pdfs and jpeg's and convert them over html + CSS. I then add any contact forms, google analytics and other elements to create a full site.
Because the design has all ready been client approved, sites can be completed in less than a day. Prices start from £99 with a typical 5 page site costing around £199. Wordpress versions are charged at £249, I can also produce templates for many other popular open source packages such as Joomla and Drupal
I can also create my own designs for your websites. I cater for small brochure sites right up to fully bespoke e-commerce stores. Obviously it hard to put a price on these packages, however you can expect to pay around £299 for small site, with a typical 5 page brochure site coming in at £599. All hosting is included for your first 12months (if required).
You can also add-on a mobile version of your site, these are designed to work with touch screen devices providing clear and easy navigation to mobile users, putting emphasis on single finger use!
As soon as your website is complete don't think it will now earn you lots and lots of cash, websites require attention the same as any new member of staff. Over the next 6-12 months, websites need to be adjusted for SEO and to up conversion rates.
Packages are on a retainer basis and start from £49 month, this time does not just have to be used on your website it can also be used to build online advertising campaigns, e-mail marketing or even micro sites.

Due to being a Northamptonshire based freelance web designer I can often be working on site with clients, if I am on site I will generally not be able to answer the phone, so the best form of contact is e-mail. I do not have a general 9-5 life style so don't be to alarmed if you get a reply at 4am.
